Professor Yuzhuo CAI, Co-Director of the Global Research Institute for Finnish Education (GRIFE) under The Academy for Educational Development and Innovation (AEDI) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), represented the Academy and University in academic exchanges in Beijing and Hebei Province, Mainland China, in September 2025.
Speaking at the THA&CASSSP Innovation Summit
On 15 September 2025, the "THA&CASSSP Innovation Summit," jointly organized by the Chinese Association of Science of Science and S&T Policy Research (CASSSP) and the Triple Helix Association (THA), with the support of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), was successfully held at the Academic Hall of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. The forum brought together over 90 scholars from universities and research institutions both in China and abroad, including more than 60 Chinese experts and over 30 international representatives. Professor Yuzhuo CAI was invited as a keynote speaker. He shared EdUHK’s experience in integrating teacher education with innovation research, demonstrating the university’s international perspective in promoting educational innovation.

In his remarks, Professor Cai also announced that in 2026, EdUHK, GRIFE, and THA would jointly host the "24th Triple Helix International Conference, jointly with the 3rd Annual Conference of the Global Research Institute for Finnish Education." This international event will bring together global experts to explore cutting-edge issues in the synergistic development of education and technological innovation. As 2026 marks the year that EdUHK's retitling from an institution into a university, the conference will serve as one of the flagship events of the anniversary celebrations, showcasing the university’s achievements and commitment to internationalization over the past decade.
Academic Exchanges & Programme Promotions
In addition to speaking at the THA&CASSSP Innovation Summit, Professor Cai also represented the University and Academy in academic exchanges and programme promotion activities in universities including Hebei Normal University, Beijing Normal University, Peking University, and the Sino-Danish College of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. During his visits to these institutions, Professor Cai was invited to deliver speeches focusing on the important topic of university graduates' employability. He shared insights and engaged in dialogues with faculty and students, drawing on EdUHK's practical experience in teacher education and innovative talent development. Additionally, he provided detailed introductions to the upcoming master's programs offered by the Academy for Educational Development and Innovation (AEDI), including their unique features, interdisciplinary structure, and future development directions, which attracted widespread attention and inquiries from students at various universities.
