  • The educators and education administrators in professional and vocational colleges in Chinese societies, especially mainland China, especially those who wish to improve their professional skills and enhance their teaching and management capabilities.
    Participants should also be highly motivated, ambitious, and willing to question and share expertise.
 

 

 

 

Programme structure and Curriculum

The MA(PVE) is a 24-credit-point (cp) programme comprising 8 courses. Each course carries 3 cps. Students must complete 4 core courses and 4 elective courses.

Programme Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs)

Upon completion of this programme, participants will be able to:

 

PILO 1: Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in designing, delivering, and evaluating effective professional and vocational education programmes and courses, understanding and applying a range of teaching methods, assessment strategies, and technological tools to enhance learning experiences.

 

PILO 2: Develop a deep understanding of the evolving needs of the Chinese market and society and apply this knowledge to create and adapt relevant and responsive professional and vocational education programmes and courses by conducting needs assessments, analyzing industry trends, and incorporating contemporary best practices.

 

PILO 3: Exhibit leadership skills and a commitment to advocating for high-quality professional and vocational education programmes and courses in China by understanding policy frameworks, engaging in advocacy initiatives, and contributing to the development of innovative solutions for addressing national development needs.

 

PILO 4: Demonstrate a strong understanding of multiculturalism and its implications for creating inclusive and equitable professional and vocational education programmes and courses in China by recognizing and addressing potential barriers to access and participation, promoting culturally responsive pedagogy, and fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

 

PILO 5: Critically analyse and evaluate current and emerging trends in professional and vocational education in China, contributing to the development of innovative and effective

General Admission Requirements
  • Recognised Bachelor's Degree or other equivalent qualifications 
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience in a role that offers opportunities to exercise leadership at the group, organization or system level
  • Shortlisted applicants are required to attend an admission interview. 
  • Applicants from institutions where English is not the medium of instruction are required to demonstrate English proficiency that meets our established standards. This proficiency will be evaluated during the interview process.
  • Priority will be given to applicants who have achieved excellent scores in the recognized English proficiency tests.
